As the Editor of A Touch Far Vetched it is vital that I show my support for new Swans manager Steve Cooper; as someone that has had bouts of fisticuffs with bad mental health (and had my arse kicked more often than not) it is worthwhile to give my support to the Samaritans…
…so I’m combining both objectives through the ATFV Swans Strikes 4 Samaritans scheme!
The principle is a simple one; for every Championship goal Cooper’s side scores and for every single point Cooper’s side wins I shall donate £1 to the Swansea branch of the Samaritans.
A Just Giving page will be created in due course (I’m just waiting for the Swansea branch to create a Just Giving account as the service won’t let me set up a crowd funding page for what it recognises as a registered charity) and goal and points pounds will be uploaded at the end of each month.
This should, with a bit of luck, generate somewhere in the region of £100 but let’s all hope that Cooper’s side is a goal scoring, match winning machine that bleeds me for a lot more than that by the end of the season!
Of course anybody wanting to match my pledge is more than welcome. Equally, one off donations will be gratefully received too. I’ll ensure to regularly send out the link to the fundraising page via the ATFV Twitter account and Facebook page.
I’m steadfast and resolute in my support for Steve Cooper and the Samaritans and I’m ready to put my money where my mouth is through our Swans Strikes 4 Samaritans scheme.
