Vetch Field Memories

Vetch Field Memories Logo GraphicThe Vetch Field will always be the spiritual home of Swansea City Football Club and our Vetch Field Memories section of the ATFV website will help you to recall some of the best and most influential matches that the old ground played host to.

Home to the Swans for more than 90 years there are countless memories swirling around the rickety but fondly remembered stadium that sadly is no more. From the first ever match of Swansea Town to the FA Cup Quarter Final thrashing of Arsenal; from Tosh’s first game in charge to Harry Griffiths’ last match before tragedy struck; from glorious contests in the Golden Era of the old First Division to the horror of a Hull encounter to stay in the League.

The purpose of Vetch Field Memories is to recount those famous or indeed infamous games and the circumstances that made them stand out, describing the match, listing the teams and providing a snapshot of what was going on in the world on the day was played…the Vetch played host to so much and was the scene of so many triumphs and tragedies throughout Swansea Football Club’s past and ATFV will help you to live those memories all over again or indeed experience them for the first time.

We’ll be looking to add to this online resource over the coming weeks and months…but we want YOU to contribute too…
