This issue of A Touch Far Vetched is dedicated to Nathan Ford
This issue of A Touch Far Vetched is dedicated to supporting Nathan Ford in his fight to recover from serious injuries sustained whilst representing his country.
Swansea boy Nathan was competing in the British Triathlon Championships in Scotland when a biking accident left him with two life threatening injuries.
The initial good news was that the brain injury was not as severe as first thought. However, the damage to Nathan’s spinal column was worse than feared and Nathan is now facing the fight of his life to overcome his injuries – which he will do thanks to his iron will and the support of those around him
After weeks in intensive care in Scotland Nathan’s family are waiting for the news that his condition has stabilised enough for him to be transferred back to Wales for treatment.
The 37 year old athlete faces a long and arduous road to recovery and even then the prognosis is a difficult one.
However, that does not take into account that this is a very special man, an Iron Man, and with the support of his family, friends, and the triathlete community, do not rule out Nathan Ford defying the odds and being back on his bike or pounding the pavements, running with the athletes he trains for a living.
All at ATFV wish Nathan a full recovery and hope he will be back home in Wales soon. We also wish to extend our services to his family and friends to help raise the funds needed to help aid that recovery and make Nathan as comfortable as possible.
You can do it Nathan. The Jack Army is behind you all the way.
