Kris Nordfeldt

Name: Kristoffer Nordfeldt

Date Arrived: June 2015

Signed From: Heerenveen

Fee: £600k

19/20 Appearances: 4

Bio: Signed as understudy to Lukas Fabianski and a fee of £600k for a Swedish international as back up was good business. Fabianski’s presence restricted Nordfeldt to the odd cup game in his early years but Fab’s departure in June ’18 brought his big chance. The Swedish international has worn the No. 1 jersey ever since…but has rarely been considered the No. 1 ‘keeper due to competition first from Erwin Mulder and then Freddie Woodman. A competent shot stopper, Nordfeldt is also capable – and brave to the point of reckless! – with the ball at his feet. He’s got a wicked drop of the shoulder when taking on opposition players in his own box too! Alas Nordfeldt’s Swans career has been blighted by howlers and set piece problems, hampering his bid for regular football and crowd acceptance.

Erwin Mulder

Name: Erwin Mulder

Date Arrived: July 2017

Signed From: Heerenveen

Fee: Free

19/20 Appearances:0

Bio: Mulder made for a surprise signing in the summer of ’17, his capture put down to Huw Jenkins’ obsession with signing goalkeepers every summer. The truth was out there though (see what we did there?) and it was revealed at the start of last season when a Fabianski-less Swansea City lost Nordfeldt to injury early in their first Championship game and Erwin was elevated to first choice mid-match. The former Feyenoord stopper showed his qualities for a while until manager Graham Potter turned into Harvey Two Face, flip flopping between Mulder and fit again Nordfeldt for first choice. The uncertainty seemed to unsettle the Dutchman and his form suffered, to the point where he’s fallen out of the first team reckoning entirely under Steve Cooper. Not as reliable as Nordfeldt with the ball at his feet but more reliable under the high ball, Mulder’s made a decent free signing. He’s also Swansea City’s very own Fox in the Box…geddit??No‽ Oh well…
