#00ff00;\"><strong>ATFV<\/strong><\/span> website detailing our plans for the\u00a0<strong><em>Community Chest\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>this season, with no less than FIVE causes we would be supporting and the minimum\u00a0<strong>\u00a33,000 <\/strong>target<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>that came with them.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">You can read all about our plans<span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><a style=\"color: #00ff00;\" href=\"https:\/\/atfv.co.uk\/2021\/08\/the-fundraising-fanzine-fires-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> HERE &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/span>but the short version is that we&#8217;ll be raising money for the following causes this season:-<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Alzheimer&#8217;s Society Cymru<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Lenny Johnrose\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The Children&#8217;s Wards<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Calon Plus<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ysgol Hendrefelin\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Things have moved on a little since then and we&#8217;ve taken on a couple of ad hoc causes that have cropped up &#8211; which makes the additional recruitment I talked about in the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/atfv.co.uk\/fanzine1-4\/2021\/09\/opening-salvo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Opening Salvo<\/strong><\/em><\/a> even more crucial<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-24f9e58 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"24f9e58\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container #ffffff;\">And it&#8217;s with the recruitment of old friend <strong>Steve Sax\u00a0<\/strong>and his fundraising wing-woman\u00a0<strong>Marie Parton\u00a0<\/strong>that I want to start this update as it also ties off the <em><strong>Toy Story\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>campaign that featured in the last issue. Our final total by the end of last season was\u00a0<strong>\u00a31,200 &#8211; which we donated to Steve and Marie&#8217;s fundraising campaign for the same <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">cause.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Steve Sax is of course a professional musician and, inspired by the late, great Captain Tom, he played 100 songs in 100 days, recording dedications in return for donations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">It&#8217;s that type of innovation that <span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><strong>ATFV<\/strong> <\/span>needs in its ranks and I&#8217;m looking forward to working with Steve and Marie over the coming season to not only reach but exceed our \u00a33,000 target.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Part of that work will be the <b>Toy Story II Appeal <\/b>which will look to raise a grand for our annual trip to Smyths to buy new toys and equipment for the Children&#8217;s Wards &#8211; let&#8217;s all hope that Covid doesn&#8217;t prevent us doing that this Lenny<\/strong><\/em> appeal which is designed not only to raise money for a sports star battling against the debilitating effects of Motor Neurone Disease, but also to show a former Jack how much we love him!<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">I wrote about Lenny&#8217;s battle in the last issue of<\/span> <span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><strong>ATFV<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">&#8211; which you can read<\/span> <span style=\"color: #00ff00;\">HERE <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">&#8211; and from that moment I was determined to do something to show some support for a man that not only had a profound effect on the club I love but, is also fighting against the terrible effects of MND.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">And that&#8217;s why I am so very proud that the original \u00a3200 target was not just met but smashed within a <strong>DAY<\/strong> of launching the JustGiving page.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">That achievement is solely down to the generosity of Swans fans across the country, and reading the kind comments that went with each donation has been a huge motivation to raise more and more.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">That&#8217;s why the target has been more than doubled to\u00a0<strong>\u00a3500\u00a0<\/strong>and we&#8217;ll be embarking on some attached to it.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">How is this guaranteed? <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Well, it&#8217;s such a fantastic cause, with a local branch, and it touches the lives of so many people that I feel compelled to ensure that we raise a decent amount of money. So I will personally<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">cover any shortfall if we don&#8217;t raise a grand.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Now some will think that generous, some, including my bank manager, will think it frivolous (or stupid).
